TUNE IN LIVE ON 99.9 BAYFM

BYRON BAY'S AWARD WINNING LOCAL RADIO STATION

The Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond live radio show has retired after nine years and nine months of copper-bottomed weekly broadcast, being on air since 2010 and run completely by a dedicated volunteer base.  During Covid, due to restrictions and change in station management the team decided to step away from live-to-air broadcast and focus efforts in other areas of our nonprofit. We broadcast a much loved live-to-air show from 99.9BayFM in the beautiful Byron Bay in Northern NSW, Australia. The show could be heard each Monday at 11am-12pm AET (Australian Eastern Time) and then podcast on a Friday.  At the time, the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond show was the only dedicated family show of its kind on the national community radio network's schedule - our show on Mondays was repeated on the schedule on Fridays at 1:30.

We thank our community, supporters, sponsors, team and wider BayFM community for their incredible support over the years and their continuous source of inspiration for our work out there in the field!

how we work

Every week a member of our team gives their time and energy to bring a unique show for our listeners.  We go to air each Monday morning at 11am-12pm from 99.9 FM in Byron Bay.  The weekend before our show is filled with drafting the script, speaking (again) with their guest about their upcoming on-air discussion, or refining their recording if they have a pre-recorded interview, building up a music playlist, while juggling their family responsibilities.  It's exciting - and a great honour to have access to our public airwaves for this purpose - but it takes a lot of energy and support from our families.

There is a certain magic about radio. When we go on air we are always filled with fluttered excitement, and, a knowing of the
gravity of the space we are holding - both for our interviewee and the people tuning-in on the other end. There is a strong sense of responsibility to cover information that is relevant to our community of listeners, locally and globally. Alongside this, an acute understanding of the impact that this information will have. We aim for coverage of a broad range of topics stemming from human experience & community voice, through to evidence-based research & 'tried in the field' results. We hope to inspire and inform you on your unique journey!  Contact us if you'd like to join our team of presenters!
