DEAR COMMUNITYTo our beloved Northern Rivers Communities. The Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond Outreach Hub supporting Flood-Affected Northern Rivers families is now open. The newly founded Hub has come together as a direct response to the Feb/March weather and flood catastrophe affecting thousands of people across Northern NSW. Not-for-profit organisations PBB Media Incorporated & The Returning Indigenous Corporation, along with the support of community members, organisations and businesses, fundraising campaigns and many volunteers, have come together to support flood-affected families in the early years of parenting in our Northern Rivers. In collaboration with The Returning, the hub will also be reaching indigenous communities across the region.
Check below for what kind of support you can access and more info about the hub. |

BACKGROUND
Late in February and through to early March, our beloved region, the Northern Rivers of NSW on Budjalung Country and surrounding country along with the many communities living in the area have taken a huge hit. Unprecedented flooding, rain and winds have caused immense damage to landscape, homes, transportation means, local supplies and supply routes. As of March 2nd, assessment and recovery efforts are underway for the whole region. Local nonprofit organisations PBB Media Incorporated and The Returning Indigenous Corporation have started to receive requests for support from local birthing families and immediately recognised the ongoing nature of recovery following such a wide-spread and deeply impactful disaster.

HOW TO SUPPORT NORTHERN RIVERS FLOOD AFFECTED BIRTHING FAMILIES
PBB Media and The Returning are raising funds to support Northern Rivers pregnant, birthing, postnatal and early years parenting families affected by the recent flood disaster for both immediate and ongoing needs. Located in Mullumbimby and servicing flood-affected families across the Northern Rivers region, the newly formed Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Hub will offer support and relief to pregnant, birthing + postpartum families. In partnership with The Returning, the hub will be reaching indigenous communities across the region.
Services and supplies through the hub will be allocated on a needs basis (but not necessarily means tested) and assessed by our organisations experienced teams, as requests come through with minimal processing time/red tape. We have been volunteering for over a decade in the local community and intimately understand community needs in the region. Specifically, The Returning Indigenous Corporation will be directly working with Indigenous communities around the Northern Rivers to ensure funds reach Indigenous mothers and families in need. |
