PBB Media is an Evolving Project.
PBB Media is an entirely volunteer run and not-for-profit community media project and charity registered with the ACNC, based in Northern NSW, Australia. Our project started back in 2010 at the steps of our local radio station 99.9 BayFM, as a humble weekly radio program run by volunteer mothers. Operating locally and globally PBB Media has two main driving and converging forces. Firstly, we aim to deliver non-sensationalist, useful information to parents and families from a strong source base including: real life stories from parents, family and community members, healthcare providers, leaders and experts; the latest in evidence-based science relating to Pregnancy, Childbirth and Parenting; a fresh look at time-honoured traditions exploring what works for modern day living and a close look at new and emerging ideas. Secondly, we are dedicated to cross-pollinating information about the perinatal period between the main stake-holders in maternity. With the Consumer at the heart of the conversation we build and maintain strong relationships based in mutual respect with Academia, Healthcare Providers, Policy Makers, Government bodies and Communities and disseminate relevant information to help bridge the gap between vital information and delivering the best possible maternity and beyond healthcare to families.
How we Organise
The PBB Media project organises through a modern structure called the Teal Organisational Structure. We expand on this on our How We Work page here.
Our team is made up of:
Our team is made up of:
- Our Contributors' Platform , which offers a space for passionate and committed individuals to contribute to our project, and
- Our Committee, which provides overall governance, organisation, planning and management of all operations at PBBM.
What we Stand for
We are a stand for whole-family health, bonded babies turning into bonded community members, collaboration amongst all stakeholders in maternity-care and beyond, forming alliances, the innate value of mothers to a healthy society, ethical journalism, accuracy and the whole picture, highlighting the experience and knowledge of local & international whole-being and whole-earth health experts and the recognition of emerging change.

What we doWe produce:
|
Audio, visual and written contentWe produce the following regular *free content:
*We make this content available for free because we aim to help bridge the gap between scientific discoveries and their translation into clinical practice as well as to ensure we have a platform that is reflective of information that parents and communities want access to and that they are less likely to see through mainstream media (which is often influenced by commercial and monetary driven content). Currently it takes on average 17 years for scientific discoveries to enter into practice, but we believe by informing families of the latest evidence and emerging theories, as health consumers they can push for positive change.

Contributors' Platform
We provide a platform for parents, birth/parenting professionals and other experts who want to make a contribution to our goal of disseminating information they believe will benefit families. This dedicated group of people generously find the time in their busy family and professional lives to contribute to our content, and we are forever indebted to them. Our contributors also enjoy working with a diverse and passionate group they may not have otherwise met, and get to learn new skills such as operating a radio panel and interviewing.
You can read more about our current contributors here and our past contributors here. And if you'd like to join our Contributors' Platform, contact us at [email protected].

Our Commitment to You
We believe that with evidence to inform and stories to inspire, you will gain the confidence to make decisions that will put you on a path to transformation as well as support you on the path you have already taken. We also believe that along with our earth, our children are our most precious assets for our future. As our world becomes increasingly complex, more than ever we need to raise creative, compassionate innovators. Even if you aren't directly involved in the day to day care of a child, we all come in contact with people who are; we are a part of their world and we have a greater influence than we realise.
Since 2010 through Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond radio, we have interviewed over 2000 people as well as speaking to countless people on a broad range of topics from preparing for conception, pregnancy issues, birthing and its challenges, as well as parenting, how our children learn, healing from trauma, caring for ourselves as we care for our kids, transitioning into grandparenthood and so much more. Some of these interviewees have been with experts in their fields, others have been with parents sharing their experiences, and as presenters, we have all benefited so much personally from hearing this information and we are very grateful; for the opportunity to share it with you.
We can all support families by being informed of the latest evidence on birth & parenting. When informed with evidence, we can all find ways to help ourselves and the next generation realise untapped potential. At PBB Media - we are very excited about the prospect of being a part of that.
As innovative curators of research and knowledge on birth and parenting, we are committed to covering a broad range of evidence based research and information alongside time-honoured traditions and new ideas emerging all in relevance to modern day family living.
